Seersucker - Pushing Rope (1993 Sky Records)
Featuring ex-members of Dirt and cover art by none other than the Jesus Lizard's David Yow, Seersucker's Pushing Rope is a similar beast to the aforementioned Georgia band's grungy southern brand of noisy rock. Falling somewhere in the time span between Dirt and its more well known John Forbes led northern cousin Mount Shasta in Chicago, this loud, raucous and driving release never received to due I always thought was deserved. Recently having re-purchased this CD after having traded it for a pack of cigs in my monetarily poor and mentally foggy mid-twenties sometime in the mid-90's, I've been playing it non-stop since. Give it a listen.
